Excavations

Drains vehicles carry and a vast range of equipment necessary for the safe and speedy cleaning and clearance of blockages in drains and sewers.

Close Park Bury, before and after clearing blocked drain

MH4 Drains’ vehicles carry different types and sizes of electromechanical augers capable of clearing blockages in pipes from 32mm through to 150mm. This equipment is particularly useful where jetting is difficult such as a block of flats or office block, or on internal pipes where there is a risk of flooding.

MH4 Drains’ vehicles carry heavy duty ‘locktight’ rods which enable us to carry out a variety of tasks without the worry of the rods becoming detatched in the drain resulting in further problems. Although we prefer to clear blockages by jetting, rods are a valuable asset in the retrieval or removal of foreign objects such as nappies, tree roots, lost rods, bricks etc.

MH4 Drains vehicles carry high pressure jetting machines which are capable of clearing blockages in pipes from 75mm to 300mm diameter, we are equipped with a large selection of jets and nozzles which enable us to deal with a wide variety of tasks. See the tab on services
For more information about the different types of jets and nozzles available, see ‘jetting’ on services tab.

Working under pressure
Our vehicles are equipped with jetting units which deliver 12 -14 Gallons of water per minute at a pressure of up to 4000psi. These units are more than capable of dealing with the various materials responsible for causing blockages, in pipes and sewers up to 300mm diameter.

Some of the more common causes of blockages are listed below:-
Fat/Grease, Silt/Sediment, Tree Roots, Scale, Grout, and a wide variety of obstructions.

Below are examples of some of the nozzles used and a description of typical applications

Sewer cleaning nozzles-mini bomb

The de-silting of pipes with smaller jetting machines is made easier with the mini bomb suitable for trailer and van pack mounted jjetting machines

Water powered root cutter

The root cutter is an invaluable tool for the removal of large or mass tree roots. Interchangeable blades allow root removal in pipelines up to 225mm

Sewer cleaning nozzles-plough

Heavy silt removal tool, rear facing nozzles, power jet forwards and blast away the disturbed debris.

Rotary drain cleaning nozzles

Crossfire rotary nozzles are ideal for use when removing hard scale deposits, fats, grease and fibrous roots from pipes

Micro bore high pressure hose & jets

Small-bore pipe work can be easily cleaned with micro jet kits. Mini kits are particularly useful for negotiating gully traps
